Paul Duffy is an archaeologist with over 20 years experience working on excavations and building surveys in Ireland and further afield. Paul specialises in medieval and urban archaeology with a focus on medieval stonework and has analysed carved stone from Dublin Castle, St Patrick's Cathedral, Christ Church and many other medieval buildings across Ireland. He has published widely on his work.
This talk will explore the medieval stonework in the Dublin and Wicklow area considering the masons, their methods, inspirations and motivations as well as the materials and how these influenced the carving and structures of the time
