this talk will explore the value of drawing as a universal language, as a design tool, as a way of understanding the nature and beauty of the physical world, and as a path to self fulfilment.. It will look at the history of drawing education, a subject that was once taught widely, but these days taught to almost no one, and how a restoration of drawing education would bring huge benefits for the craft and design world. Clarke will explain the fundamentals of a drawing prcatice, and explore how a drawing can profoundly deepen one’s understanding and appreciation of our physical environment, and inform our interventions in that environment.
