More About the Weekend
InHand Forum is co-ordinated by artist and model-maker Robert Clarke, metalsmith and foundry manager Ciaran Patterson and silversmith Eva Lynch, who are keen to encourage both the sharing of knowledge and the re-imagining of these ancient practices. Set in the tranquil surroundings of Greenan Museum & Maze this weekend of heritage events was designed with significant input from Greenan proprietors, and keen promoters of sustainable ecology, Anita and Will Wheeler, Irish Iron Heritage Foundation chairman Paul Rondelez, and 8th generation stone mason Killian O Flaherty.
"We decided to create the event in order to ensure continuity of manual skills in a culture of ever increasing abstraction, distance and commodification of our relationship with the physical world".
The event takes place over 3 days to allow participants to properly engage with their projects and fellow students. With on site camping, showers and toilets, social room and lecture space, Greenan Musueum and Maze is the perfect venue to host this immersion in craft and heritage. Participants can sign up for a range of 3-day workshops or join us for an afternoon of fascinating talks.
